‘Stranger Things’ Fans Are Not Ready After Seeing the Final Episode Runtimes
Netflix fans are counting down the days as the final episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 get ready to drop. Ross Duffer, one of the show’s creators, shared the exact runtimes for the last four episodes on Instagram this week, giving fans a glimpse of what’s ahead.
The second half of the season kicks off on Christmas Day with three episodes. Shock Jock will run for one hour and eight minutes, followed by Escape from Camazotz at one hour and 15 minutes, and The Bridge at one hour and six minutes. The series finale, The Rightside Up, will premiere on December 31 and is set to be a long one at two hours and eight minutes.
In a special move, Netflix will also screen the finale in over 500 theaters across the U.S. and Canada. The company won’t collect ticket sales for these showings; instead, theaters will provide concession vouchers. Netflix-owned theaters will host free screenings through an RSVP system for fans.
The first four episodes of Season 5 launched just before Thanksgiving and quickly became a hit, gathering 59.6 million views in the first five days. For comparison, the tenth most-watched Netflix English-language series, Fool Me Once, reached 98.2 million views over 91 days.
With the runtimes revealed and the finale set to hit both Netflix and theaters, fans are preparing for a big holiday event filled with suspense, drama, and classic Stranger Things thrills.
