Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor in a new teaser for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. The clip gives fans a first look at the God of Thunder preparing for battle ahead of the movie’s release on December 18, 2026.

In the teaser, Thor is shown on his knees, speaking to his father, Odin, and asking for strength. “Father, all my life, I’ve answered every call. To honor, duty, to war,” he says. “But now, fate has given me something I never sought. A child. A life, untouched by the storm.” The scene includes images of Thor’s adoptive daughter, Love, played by Hemsworth’s real-life daughter India Rose Hemsworth, sleeping peacefully.

Thor continues his plea, asking for the power “so that I may fight once more. Defeat one more enemy.” At the same time, he asks that Love not inherit the strength of a warrior, but instead “to teach her not battle but stillness. The kind I never knew.” The teaser ends with a clock ticking down to the movie’s release date, echoing a similar style used in a previous teaser for Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.

This is the latest promotional material for Avengers: Doomsday, following leaks of other teasers, including one featuring Chris Evans and another showing characters from the older X-Men films, such as Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Sir Ian McKellen’s Magneto.

Chris Hemsworth was confirmed to return as Thor in March, and the film is part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The sequel, Secret Wars, is already scheduled for December 17, 2027.
