HBO Max Is Canceling Its Longest-Running Original Series
Fans of Looney Tunes Cartoons may need to say goodbye to the HBO Max series. The animated show, one of HBO Max’s longest-running originals, is officially ending.
Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed this by advertising a “Complete Series” box set of all six seasons. Digital platforms also list the series as finished.
The show’s creator, Peter Browngardt, had previously mentioned in 2023 that only a few episodes remained, with the last batch scheduled for summer that year.
Fans briefly hoped for more when a new short called Daffy in Wackyland appeared in Season 6 on HBO Max in June 2024, but the different animation style suggested it was a leftover rather than a sign of new episodes.
Before the series officially ended, fans received one final treat. In 2025, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie was released. The full-length film followed the style of the HBO Max show and featured classic characters like Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in a fun, slapstick sci-fi adventure.
The Looney Tunes Cartoons Complete Series DVD will be available on May 19, giving fans a way to own the entire run of the series.
