Angelina Jolie is preparing for a big change as the new year begins, and it could take her far from Los Angeles.

According to PEOPLE, Jolie’s historic L.A. home is now being shown to pre-qualified buyers after undergoing some renovations. An insider said that the actress is officially moving forward with plans to sell the property as she looks toward a life outside the U.S.

“She’s ready for a life that isn’t centered in Los Angeles,” the source said.

The insider added that Jolie is in a positive place right now and focused on what’s ahead. “There are a lot of projects she’s excited about and she’s feeling good,” the source shared. “She’s looking forward to 2026 and the flexibility she’ll have then.”

PEOPLE first reported in August that the Oscar-winning actress, who recently starred in Maria, was planning to put her home on the market while exploring a move abroad. At the time, a source explained that Jolie never wanted to live in Los Angeles full time.

“She never wanted to live in L.A. full time,” the source previously told PEOPLE, adding that she stayed because of custody arrangements with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Jolie and Pitt finalized their divorce on Dec. 30, 2024, ending an eight-year legal battle. The former couple share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Another source claimed that Jolie plans to relocate once Knox and Vivienne turn 18 next year. “She plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18,” the source said. “She’s eyeing several locations abroad. She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles.”

The twins will celebrate their 18th birthday on July 12, 2026. Jolie has also been open about her children’s desire for privacy. In a November 2024 interview with Good Morning America, she said, “None of my children want to be in front of the camera [at] this time. They’re quite private.”

She also spoke specifically about her daughter Shiloh, saying, “Shiloh’s extremely private.” Jolie added, “They weren’t born with privacy, right? So, I hope that they can have that as they grow old. So we’ll see.”

For Jolie, selling her Los Angeles home appears to be more than a real estate move. According to sources close to her, it marks the start of a new chapter and a life that feels more aligned with what she has wanted for years.
