Netflix is getting ready for a busy 2026, even as some of its biggest shows come to an end. The streamer has revealed a large lineup of returning series, new shows, reality programs, live events, and documentaries as part of its annual Next on Netflix presentation. The information comes directly from Netflix’s latest slate announcement.

Last year, Netflix was promoting new seasons of Stranger Things, Squid Game, and Wednesday. Two of those shows have now wrapped up, and Wednesday will not return in 2026. Still, Netflix says viewers will have plenty to watch.

Several popular scripted series are coming back with new seasons. Fans can expect fresh episodes of Outer Banks, The Gentlemen, Black Doves, and The Hunting Wives. Netflix also confirmed that Lupin will return for its fourth season later in the year, while The Witcher will end with its fifth and final season. Other shows set to return include Nobody Wants This, Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3 Body Problem, The Four Seasons, Running Point, and Leanne.

Some release dates are already locked in. Bridgerton season four will arrive on January 29, followed by The Lincoln Lawyer season four on February 5 and The Night Agent season three on February 19. One Piece season two will premiere in March, along with new seasons of Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias. Beef, which was first released as a limited series, will also return with a second season in April.

While Stranger Things has officially ended, its creators are not done with Netflix just yet. The Duffer Brothers will release three new projects in 2026. These include The Boroughs, set in a retirement community, a horror series titled Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, and an animated show called Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. These projects will arrive before the duo moves on to a new deal with Paramount later in the year.

Netflix is also putting a strong focus on period dramas. Alongside Bridgerton, the streamer is working on a new version of Pride and Prejudice, a fresh take on Little House on the Prairie, and a modern adaptation of East of Eden.

Animation remains a big part of the platform’s plans. New animated shows are coming from creators like Ricky Gervais, while returning animated series such as Devil May Cry and Long Story Short will get new seasons.

Reality TV and live programming will also play a major role. Netflix plans to relaunch Star Search as a live show early in the year. New reality and competition series are on the way, along with another season of Love Is Blind.

On the documentary side, Netflix is preparing projects focused on famous names like Kylie Minogue, Gordon Ramsay, and Rafael Nadal. Nature and history fans can also expect new series connected to David Attenborough and Steven Spielberg.
