The house that starred as the iconic home in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is officially on the market for the first time in nearly five decades. Fans of the hit 90s sitcom might recognize the white-fronted mansion, which served as Will Smith’s character’s residence alongside Uncle Phil, Carlton, and Hilary.

The six-bedroom property, which isn’t technically in Bel Air but in the upscale Brentwood area of Los Angeles, is now listed for just under $30 million. The home sits on a 38,510 square-foot lot and features seven bathrooms, sprawling over 10,000 square feet of living space.

According to TMZ, the estate was purchased by its current owner 48 years ago and was built in 1937. Josh and Matt Altman and Sasha Rahban of The Altman Brothers confirmed that it will officially hit the market at the end of January. Before the sale, a Netflix production is reportedly filming at the location.

Fans of the series will remember the Georgian Colonial mansion from six years of NBC episodes, which aired from 1990 to 1996. The show frequently showcased the property’s tree-lined exterior and stately facade, where viewers watched Will adjust from life in West Philadelphia to luxury living with his family in Los Angeles. The area has also seen other celebrity activity, with filmmaker Judd Apatow recently selling the home next door.

This sale marks the first time in nearly 50 years that the beloved property is available, giving fans and real estate enthusiasts a rare chance to own a piece of TV history.

It’s incredible that a home so closely tied to pop culture is finally available. The price might seem eye-watering, but considering the size, location, and Hollywood history, it’s not entirely surprising. What do you think, would you pay top dollar to live in a TV legend’s house?
