Lina Esco opened up about filming intimate scenes with Ben Affleck in their new Netflix movie, The Rip. The actress told People that she and Affleck couldn’t stop laughing during the s** scenes. We were giggling, Esco said. We were just two dorks, dorking around.

Esco, 40, said working with Affleck, 53, was easy and comfortable. He’s just such a sweet man and easygoing, it’s just easy. Sometimes you don’t run into people that are easy, and I can honestly say it just felt [like an] easygoing set energy, which is very rare, she explained.

The actress also spoke about the atmosphere on set. She described it as relaxed and friendly. I would say just the energy and the tone on set was very lowkey, very down to earth, Esco said. There was nothing pretentious about anyone, it was just easy.

She added that director Joe Carnahan made sure everyone felt comfortable and kept the cast in the mood of the movie with music and a positive atmosphere. At all times it felt like you were in the movie — and again, [a] very cozy, loving set, she said.

The Rip follows a group of Miami cops who find a stash of cash, leading to distrust as outsiders learn about the seizure and everyone begins questioning who to trust. Alongside Esco and Affleck, the film stars Matt Damon, Teyana Taylor, Kyle Chandler, and Steven Yeun. Affleck and Damon produced the movie, with Damon’s wife Luciana also serving as a producer.

Lina Esco is best known for her long-running role as Christina “Chris” Alonso on the CBS series S.W.A.T., which she departed in 2022. Since leaving the show, she has focused on film projects that allow her to showcase her range, with The Rip marking one of her most high-profile roles to date.

The actress is also a dedicated activist, famously starting the “Free the Nipple” campaign to promote gender equality and fight against censorship. Her work behind the camera includes directing the 2014 film of the same name, and she continues to advocate for women’s rights through her various social platforms.

Fans of the duo can also look forward to Animals, a crime thriller that Affleck is currently directing with Damon in the lead role. With multiple films in various stages of production, the “Boston brothers” are effectively dominating the 2026 cinematic landscape.
