Ex Disney Star Matt Prokop Faces Allegations After Private Video Surfaces Showing Abuse Toward Ex

Matt Prokop, the former Disney star known for High School Musical 3: Senior Year, has reportedly been caught on camera appearing to get rough with his ex-girlfriend, Lucy, according to footage obtained by the Daily Mail.

The Ring video shows Prokop, 35, seemingly pushing Lucy out the front door of a Texas home, while she can be heard crying, “Oh no,” as a small dog barks in the background.

This footage is separate from his recent arrest on multiple charges, including alleged possession of child por******. Prokop was taken into custody on December 24, 2025, in Victoria County, Texas, and is currently being held without bail. The Ring video itself is not related to the charges for which he is being detained.

Lucy, who was previously engaged to Prokop, told Page Six earlier this month that she endured “years of abuse” from the actor. “After many years of abuse, the effects are still very real and continue to impact my life,” she said.

She added, “Right now, I’m taking time to heal privately, with the support of close friends and family. Taking this time does not lessen the seriousness or harm of his actions.”

The ex also reflected on her younger self’s understanding of the situation, stating, “Being young myself, I truly did not understand the severity of the case. Taking this time does not lessen the seriousness or harm of his actions.”

Prokop has a history of abuse allegations from other former partners. “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland accused him of verbal and physical abuse during their five-year relationship. In May 2014, court filings obtained by Page Six indicate that Prokop allegedly slammed Hyland into a vehicle and choked her during an argument.

After their split, Hyland said Prokop threatened to kill her dog and burn down her house. She later secured a restraining order against him, which required him to stay away from her for three years. These allegations, combined with Lucy’s claims, paint a troubling picture of the actor’s personal behavior off-screen.

Matt Prokop began his career as a teen actor in Disney productions. He is best known for his role as Troy Bolton’s best friend in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and he also appeared in Furry Vengeance (2010), Cougar Hunting (2011), and Struck by Lightning (2012). On television, he guest-starred in episodes of Modern Family, further cementing his presence in the teen and family entertainment sphere.
