A tense family feud has come back into the spotlight after Brooklyn Beckham launched a public attack on his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. Footage from the London premiere of the Netflix documentary Beckham has resurfaced, showing Brooklyn pulling his wife, Nicola Peltz, into a family photo while she looked visibly upset. Fans now see the clip as a hint of the tension that would later explode publicly.

Brooklyn, 26, went on Instagram on Monday to accuse his parents of interfering in his marriage. In a series of posts, he claimed that David and Victoria had tried to control his life and even sabotage his relationship with Nicola. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” Brooklyn wrote, detailing what he described as years of emotional manipulation.

The social media posts hit hardest when Brooklyn described problems around his 2022 wedding. He said Victoria canceled Nicola’s dress “at the 11th hour” and took over their first dance, which was supposed to feature singer Marc Anthony. He also claimed the family told Nicola “she’s not family” and tried to bribe her to control the story.

Brooklyn also defended his wife against claims that she controls him. “The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he explained. He added that stepping away from the family has improved his mental health. “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” he said.

The feud reportedly started months ago, with missed family events and social media tension adding fuel. Brooklyn and Nicola skipped Victoria’s 51st birthday in Miami and David’s 50th in London. Sources suggest Brooklyn’s absence from David’s party was tied to Romeo Beckham’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who allegedly had a past connection with Brooklyn.

The rift deepened when Brooklyn unfollowed his brothers, Romeo and Cruz, on Instagram, a move Nicola mirrored. Fans also noticed a TikTok clip of the younger brothers joking about a “baby voice,” which many interpreted as a dig at Nicola.

According to sources close to David and Victoria, the couple was shocked by the public nature of Brooklyn’s accusations and devastated by the fallout. Reports also indicate that Brooklyn has sent a legal notice demanding future communication go through lawyers.

Brooklyn ended his post by shutting down any hope of reconciliation. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he said.

Brooklyn Beckham, born in 1999, is the eldest son of former football star David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. He has worked as a photographer, releasing the book What I See, and is now pursuing a career as a chef with his online series Cookin’ with Brooklyn.

Nicola Peltz Beckham is an actress and heiress, known for roles in Bates Motel, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Holidate. She also recently made her directorial debut with the film Lola.

David and Victoria Beckham remain global icons. David is co-owner of Inter Miami CF, famously bringing Lionel Messi to MLS, while Victoria runs her fashion and beauty empire, maintaining her status as a style influencer.

The viral red carpet moment from 2023 now seems to reflect deeper tensions within the Beckham family. Fans are debating online whether Brooklyn was right to defend his wife publicly or if family conflicts should stay private.
