Robert Pattinson Admits He ‘100% Smelled’ Like Something Totally Unexpected
Robert Pattinson recently revealed a strange secret about how he used to smell. In an interview with GQ Magazine, the actor said that at one point in his life, he was convinced he smelled exactly like a box of crayons. Over the years, his body chemistry has changed, and the scent is gone.
“I think that something has changed. My body chemistry has changed. It’s very strange. But I 100% used to smell exactly like a crayon,” Pattinson told GQ. He explained that as people get older, their natural scent tends to fade. Back then, he noticed a very strong smell on himself, which he first described as vicious before it turned into the crayon-like scent.
The actor joked about why his scent might have changed so much. He suggested it could be part of a seven-year cycle for the body. “Maybe I was smelling of crayons when one self died, and when a new self was born, it was less scented,” he said. Today, Pattinson says he doesn’t notice any smell on himself, even after a tough workout.
He also mentioned that a past bout with COVID might have played a role in his sense of smell. “It’s just blank! I actually did lose my sense of smell for a bit and it took me months to realize that I’d lost it. I have it back now…I think,” he told the magazine.
Besides talking about his changing scent, Pattinson has been busy with his acting career. He recently promoted his film Die My Love, which starred Jennifer Lawrence and came out in late 2025. Fans can also look forward to seeing him in The Drama with Zendaya this April and in Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey in July.
Pattinson is also joining big franchises. He will play the villain Scytale in Dune: Part Three, set for December. He is also preparing to return as Batman in The Batman Part II, which will start filming this spring for a 2027 release. On a personal note, he is enjoying life as a father with his partner Suki Waterhouse and their young daughter.
Robert Pattinson’s story shows how even small changes in our bodies over time can be surprising. In my opinion, it’s funny and humanizing to hear a star like him talk about something as personal as his natural scent.
