Sydney Sweeney is making headlines again, but this time it’s about more than just her acting. The 28-year-old actor is using her new lingerie brand, SYRN, to speak openly about body confidence and female empowerment.

In a recent cover story with Cosmopolitan, Sweeney showed off pieces from the line in striking, nearly nude photos, explaining that the shoot was about owning her own power. “Yeah, this is me reclaiming my body and my narrative and using it to empower other women,” she told the magazine.

The lingerie line officially launched on January 28, and Sweeney made it clear that inclusivity was central to her vision. She worked with an all-female design team and ensured the campaign featured a wide variety of body types. “My models are a beautiful range of body types. I’m always like, ‘I want to see it on every body.’ I can’t be the only model. I need to make sure everyone feels really good in it,’ she said.

Sweeney’s promotional efforts for SYRN have been as bold as the designs themselves. The actress generated buzz when she draped bras over the Hollywood sign, a stunt that was not officially approved but sent the brand’s “Seductress” collection to nearly sell out instantly. The actress said the project is personal, rooted in her own experiences. “I was in the 6th grade with DDs. I hated the bra I had to wear,” she explained. The line now offers 44 different sizes to help women find a fit that works for them.

While her new brand is making waves, Sweeney’s acting career is also booming. She recently starred in the thriller The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig, and her performance as legendary boxer Christy Martin in Christy earned her a Virtuoso Award at the 2026 Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Fans are also eagerly awaiting the third season of HBO’s Euphoria, which premieres on April 12, and Sweeney is set to star in and produce the romantic drama Scandalous! and join Netflix’s live-action Gundam alongside Noah Centineo.

Sweeney has addressed critics who suggest her lingerie work is aimed at the “male gaze.” She rejects that idea, emphasizing that SYRN is for the wearer, not for anyone else. “People will say, ‘Oh, she’s doing this for guys’ or ‘Oh, she’s a guy’s girl,’” she said. “But I’m like, ‘What is more girl’s girl than owning your body and doing it for yourself?’ I want it to be their choice—the choice of the wearer—whether this is for them, for somebody else, or for a camera lens.”

By blending her Hollywood profile with a message of female autonomy, Sydney Sweeney is shaping a new chapter in her career. The lingerie launch shows she can balance acting, business, and advocacy, using her platform to make bold statements about choice and empowerment.

Sydney is clearly taking control of her image and career in 2026, turning her voice into influence. What do you think about her decision to use SYRN to promote body positivity and reclaim the female gaze? Share your thoughts in the comments.
