Sydney Sweeney is taking control of the conversation around her body in 2026. The Euphoria star opened up in a new Cosmopolitan cover story about the constant scrutiny she faces online and in the media.

Sweeney, who is also launching her lingerie line SYRN, explained that people often focus on rumors instead of reality. She has dealt with public commentary about her body since she was young, and now she decides when to respond.

The actress reflected on how the internet has amplified comparisons. She said, I see photos comparing me to my child self all the time. I was 14 in that image. I’m 28 now. Sweeney also addressed claims about cosmetic procedures. It’s not true. I’ve never gotten any work done, she told Cosmopolitan.

Sweeney connected the scrutiny she faces to a bigger social media problem. I wish there was something in place on social media to restrict things that aren’t true, she said. She added that it affects younger girls. There are girls who will look at me and say, ‘I need to do these things to feel pretty.’ She also mentioned how she often has to explain basic facts about her body. I feel like I’ve had to explain how boobs work for forever now.

Her comments also tied into her new business, SYRN, which launched on January 28. The brand focuses on choice and inclusivity, offering 44 sizes. I want SYRN to stand for the power of choice, she explained. Sweeney shared an early memory about her body, saying, In sixth grade, I was a 32 DD. She said that fit issues are often misinterpreted as scandal. If your top doesn’t fit perfectly, it’s going to ride up.

Sweeney has been busy in film and TV. Her thriller The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig, was a hit and has already been greenlit for a sequel. Her biopic Christy earned her critical praise for portraying boxing pioneer Christy Martin, a role that required her to gain 30 pounds of muscle.

She will next star in the romantic drama Scandalous, playing Kim Novak, and a live-action Netflix Gundam movie with Noah Centineo. HBO’s Euphoria returns for its third season on April 12.

The SYRN launch made headlines with a viral stunt where bras were hung on the Hollywood sign, drawing legal attention. Despite the controversy, the first collection, called “Seductress,” sold out within hours.

Sweeney’s approach shows her taking control over both her image and her career. By speaking openly about cosmetic rumors and body scrutiny while launching an inclusive lingerie line, she is reclaiming her narrative. Personally, I think it’s a smart move, blending empowerment with business. What do you think, does SYRN strengthen her image or make the conversation about her body more complicated?
