Kate Hudson is in the spotlight again as she promotes her latest film, Song Sung Blue. On January 30, the 46-year-old actress attended a special screening at the Charlotte Street Hotel in London. She took part in a Q&A session with fans, discussing her role in the movie.

Hudson is nominated for Best Actress at the 98th Academy Awards for her performance as Claire Sardina. The film is based on the true story of a couple who starts a Neil Diamond tribute band. For the London event, Kate wore a plaid blazer with matching pants and a simple blue shirt, showing off a polished yet relaxed look.

To prepare for the role, Hudson spent time with the real Claire Sardina. While some family members were unhappy with how the story was portrayed, Claire herself was pleased with the result. Hudson told Deadline, Claire is so happy and my relationship with Claire and telling her story and this love story – it’s such a love letter to them. She added that she feels lucky to have Claire’s approval.

Before arriving in London, Hudson attended Paris Fashion Week. She went to several top shows, including the Giorgio Armani Privé show, where she sat front row with Michelle Pfeiffer and Diane Kruger. She described the new fashion as beautiful, like fresh air, ethereal.

Her mother, Goldie Hawn, celebrated Hudson’s Oscar nomination on Instagram. The Times of India shared that she wrote, Oh, my baby, my baby, my baby girl! I love you as big as the universe. This marks 25 years since Hudson’s first Oscar nomination for Almost Famous, making the recognition especially meaningful.

Song Sung Blue is now playing in theaters and features Hudson singing alongside Hugh Jackman. The film has stirred some controversy, as Claire Sardina’s son publicly criticized it. Hudson told The Hollywood Reporter that she prefers to focus on her connection with Claire and the filmmakers’ vision rather than the family disputes.

Kate Hudson’s dedication to portraying Claire authentically makes her performance stand out. Her musical return is strong, and the Oscar nomination is well deserved. Do you think Hudson will finally win the Best Actress Oscar for this role? Share your thoughts in the comments.
