Sabrina Carpenter Falls for a Pringles Man in Wild New Super Bowl Ad

Sabrina Carpenter is heading into Super Bowl season with a very unusual love story, and fans are already talking about it. The singer is starring in a new Pringles commercial that will air during Super Bowl LX on February 8, and the ad puts a funny twist on the idea of the perfect partner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the commercial shows Carpenter discovering that the secret to true love might be sitting in a Pringles can. In the ad, she creates her dream man using inspiration from the iconic Pringles mascot. The result is a character named Pringleleo, a man literally built from crisps, complete with a salty personality.

The 30-second version of the commercial will air during the third quarter of the game on NBC, during the matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

This marks Pringles’ ninth year in a row advertising during the Super Bowl. The ad was created by BBDO New York and leans heavily into the brand’s long-running “Once You Pop” slogan. The idea was to take familiar Pringles elements and turn them into something unexpected and playful.

Sarah Reinecke, senior vice president at Mars Snacking, explained the concept behind the ad in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter. Our iconic snack has been popping off in the Big Game for nearly a decade, she said. This year, we’re bringing Pringles to life, almost literally, as Sabrina builds her beloved Pringleleo, and we’re honored to show the world their unexpected love story.

Michael Aimette, chief creative officer at BBDO New York, also spoke about working with Carpenter on the project. This spot taps into what makes Pringles unmistakably Pringles, he said. Sabrina Carpenter immediately got the joke and elevated it, making a love story built out of crisps feel pretty natural.

The timing of the commercial is no accident. Carpenter is coming off a huge year after releasing her album Man’s Best Friend in August. She also picked up six Grammy nominations, making her one of the most talked-about pop stars right now.
