Céline Dion is proving that her musical palate is just as legendary as her four-octave range. On Friday, February 6, the vocal powerhouse took to Instagram to give fans a peek into her personal playlist, delivering the news with her signature blend of humor and theatrical flair.

The 57-year-old icon admitted that while she has an endless list of favorite tracks, she wanted to share a few that truly resonate with her right now. The video kicked off with a playful confession regarding Rihanna’s hit “Love on the Brain.” Dion quipped that the soul-stirring track should’ve been mine, though she quickly followed up by praising the Barbados singer’s rendition.

While she clearly adores Rihanna’s work, Dion couldn’t help but joke that she felt a special connection to that particular song’s emotional depth. The playlist continued with a mix of soulful hits and unexpected rock anthems.

Dion highlighted “You Say” by Lauren Daigle and Guy Sebastian’s “Before I Go,” even jokingly asking if the Australian singer-songwriter writes songs for other people as a subtle hint for a future collaboration. She also shouted out James Blunt and the artist Celeste, suggesting that she and the latter should do something creative together in the near future.

Perhaps the most surprising moment of the video came when Dion revealed her inner rockstar. After mentioning that her son Eddy is a massive Metallica fan, she admitted she had a sudden urge to sing a Metallica song now.

She then launched into a hilarious and high-energy impression of the heavy metal band’s growling vocal style, proving that “Queen Céline” can tackle any genre with a smile. This musical deep dive follows another viral moment for Dion earlier this month, where she shared a “What’s in My Bag” video for her followers.

The singer revealed a collection of quirky essentials, ranging from a landline phone she uses for calling 9-freaking-1-1 when people don’t believe her identity, to her own VIP concert badge. She joked that it takes a lot of courage to carry around proof that she is indeed the famous singer everyone thinks she is.

As of February, Céline Dion is enjoying a major career resurgence following the success of her 2024 documentary, I Am: Celine Dion. Rumors are currently swirling that she is preparing for a brand-new Las Vegas residency at Resorts World, which is tentatively scheduled to launch later this year.

Fans are also eagerly anticipating a potential new studio album, fueled by a 30th-anniversary reissue of her classic record Falling Into You, which is slated for release on June 12.

Outside of the studio, Dion has remained a fixture in the fashion world and was recently spotted at several high-profile events in Paris and Las Vegas. She continues to raise awareness for Stiff-Person Syndrome, using her platform to inspire others through her own journey of resilience.

Do you think Céline Dion should actually follow through on her joke and record a full heavy metal cover of a Metallica song for her next album? Share your thoughts in the comments.
