Colin Farrell is taking the concept of casual Friday to a whole new level. On Friday night, February 7, the 49-year-old Irish actor was spotted making a late-night grocery run at Lazy Acres in Hollywood while dressed entirely in his sleepwear.

Sporting a pair of blue and white flannel pajama pants, a basic black tee, and a thick cardigan, the actor looked every bit the relatable local as he navigated the store’s aisles. The sightings come as Farrell prepares for the highly anticipated return of his neo-noir mystery series, Sugar, which is officially set to premiere its second season on Apple TV+ on June 19.

In the stylish series, Farrell portrays John Sugar, an empathetic private investigator with a cinephile’s heart and a major secret. This season, the production is keeping things close to home by adding Farrell’s real-life best friend, Shea Whigham, to the cast as a government contact assisting with a new missing persons case.

Farrell recently opened up about his deep connection to the character and the show’s primary setting. He admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that while it took him quite a long time to truly fall in love with the city, his twenty-three years of residency in Los Angeles have given him a profound appreciation for its chaotic nature.

He described the city as so multifaceted and cross-cultural, noting that its lack of cohesion is exactly what makes it a haven for everyone from surfers and rockers to economists and artists.

As of this year, Colin Farrell’s career is in a state of high-gear momentum following the massive success of his HBO series The Penguin. He is currently coming off the release of the Netflix psychological thriller Ballad of a Small Player, which premiered in late 2025 and saw him starring as a high-stakes gambler in Macau alongside Tilda Swinton.

The film, directed by Edward Berger, further solidified Farrell’s reputation for taking on complex, “sweaty” roles that push him to the emotional brink. Beyond his current projects, Farrell is already looking toward the future of the DC Universe. He has confirmed that he will return to the role of Oz Cobb in Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II, which is rumored to begin filming in the spring of this year for a late 2027 release.

Farrell has teased that the script is extraordinary, beautiful, and tasty, promising fans that the Penguin’s journey alongside Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight is only getting more intense.

When he isn’t filming blockbusters or shopping in his pajamas, the actor remains deeply committed to his philanthropic work through the Colin Farrell Foundation, which he launched in 2024 to support individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Do you think more celebrities should follow Colin Farrell’s lead and normalize running errands in their pajamas, or should Hollywood stars keep their sleepwear strictly behind closed doors? Share your thoughts in the comments.
