Jake Paul Urges Fans to “Turn Off” the Super Bowl During Bad Bunny Halftime Show: “Let’s Rally Together and Show Big Corporations”
Influencer and professional boxer Jake Paul sparked controversy on Sunday when he urged fans to turn off the Super Bowl during Bad Bunny’s halftime performance. Paul shared his thoughts on X, telling his followers to skip the show.
“Purposefully turning off the halftime show,” he wrote. “Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences (which equals viewership for them). You are their benefit. Realize you have power. Turn off this halftime. A fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America. I cannot support that.”

Turn off this halftime. A fake American…
Jake’s comments follow a history of criticism from both him and his brother Logan Paul regarding Bad Bunny. In 2022, Logan criticized the singer on the Philip DeFranco Show, saying, “I do find it hypocritical because Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican, living in Puerto Rico, who is privately taking advantage of the same tax program that he is publicly condemning.”
This was in response to Bad Bunny’s documentary El Apagón – Aquí Vive Gente, which explored gentrification and displacement of local Puerto Ricans caused by wealthy outsiders moving to the island under tax incentives.
The Paul brothers themselves moved to Puerto Rico in 2021, citing tax benefits as their reason, according to Logan in an interview with Graham Bensinger.
Jake Paul has also made headlines for comments on immigration and law enforcement. On X, he wrote, “If you don’t like ICE then you can’t call 911 when you’re in trouble. If you don’t respect law enforcement agents then you shouldn’t depend on them.” He later targeted Billie Eilish after her criticism of ICE at the 2026 Grammys, jokingly calling her “Billie Eyelash” and writing, “When Billie Eyelash gets her home broken into it’s not gonna be f**** ICE I can promise you that.”
Jake Paul’s remarks have already drawn reactions from fans and media alike. His outspoken stance against Bad Bunny’s halftime show and public criticism of celebrities highlights his continued use of social media to stir controversy.
Jake Paul’s comments are provocative and will certainly keep the conversation about the Super Bowl halftime show alive. Do you agree with him, or do you think this is over the top? Share your thoughts in the comments.
