Bijou Phillips is back in a Los Angeles hospital as she waits for a second kidney transplant. The actress, 45, shared a heartfelt plea on social media Wednesday, asking for help finding a living donor.

Phillips, who received her first kidney transplant in 2017, explained that she is now back on dialysis at UCLA while continuing her search for a compatible donor. She revealed that she has faced ongoing complications, including the BK virus, which caused both cellular and antibody rejection of her first transplant.

“In 2017, I received the incredible gift of a kidney from a dear friend. That transplant gave me 8 precious years to be a mother to my daughter – but I have had many complications since,” Phillips wrote online. She also shared the long-term challenges she has faced, saying she was born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent the first three months of her life in the NICU on dialysis.

“Please help me find a living donor so that I can have more time with my daughter, family, and friends,” she added.

Her post quickly drew support from friends and fans. Kathy Hilton sent her “prayers, love and light,” while Kimberley Stewart wrote, “Love you so much.” Actress Ashley Benson also shared words of encouragement, saying, “We are all supporting you and you are not alone.”

Phillips has faced personal challenges alongside her health struggles. In September 2023, she filed for divorce from Danny Masterson, just two weeks after he was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for two counts of forcible rape, according to Fox News Digital.

The actress remains under the care of Dr. Anjay Rastogi at UCLA. Her post serves as a reminder of both her resilience and the urgent need for kidney donors to help patients like her continue their lives with loved ones.

This situation is heartbreaking, and it’s a powerful reminder of how critical organ donations are. Bijou Phillips’ courage in sharing her story openly is inspiring. What do you think about her call for a kidney donor? Share your thoughts in the comments.
