The London red carpet was full of excitement this week as stars gathered for the BAFTA Invest in Talent Gala at The Chancery Rosewood. The event celebrates and raises money to support emerging talent in film, games, and television, and this year, the spotlight shone brightly on Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender.

According to coverage from the event, the couple, known for keeping their private lives out of the public eye, made a rare appearance together, turning heads as they posed for photos.

Vikander, 37, looked incredible in a custom grey off-the-shoulder Louis Vuitton gown as she posed alongside her actor husband on the red carpet. The gown featured a ruffled neckline, a fitted waist with subtle seam details, and a flowing flared skirt. Fassbender complemented her perfectly, wearing a classic black-and-white tuxedo as he wrapped an arm around his wife for pictures.

The gala also gave a glimpse of the upcoming BAFTA Awards, with the 2026 nominations recently announced by David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood. Films leading the pack include One Battle After Another with 14 nominations and Sinners with 13. Hamnet, Chloe Zhao’s adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, made history as the most-nominated female-directed film in BAFTA history. Other films like Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value also earned multiple nods.

The competition in the acting categories is just as fierce. Jessie Buckley received a nomination for her lead role in Hamnet, adding to her growing awards season streak, which includes a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award. Other contenders for Best Leading Actress are Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue, Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, and Emma Stone for Bugonia.

Vikander has a busy year ahead beyond the BAFTAs. She stars in the upcoming drama The Last Day alongside Victoria Pedretti and Wagner Moura. Fassbender is currently filming the Netflix historical drama The Kennedys, playing Joe Kennedy Sr. under director Thomas Vinterberg.

With so many talented performers and films in the running, fans are already debating who will dominate the 2026 BAFTA Awards. Who do you think deserves the top prizes this year? Share your thoughts on the nominations in the comments.
