Robert Pattinson Reveals Why His First Therapy Session Was a One-Time Thing
A new conversation between Robert Pattinson and Zendaya is getting attention after the actors sat down for Interview Magazine and spoke openly about fame, identity, and their unusual working process.
During the talk, Pattinson reflected on the strange experience of becoming world famous through Twilight. He explained that the success of the franchise came with strong public opinions at the same time. “When I was doing Twilight, there was such a cultural pushback against it, almost simultaneous to its success… I didn’t want to get my personal identity caught up in that.” Zendaya responded simply, “So weird, I imagine.”
The actor went on to explain how playing a famous character shaped the way he thinks about fame and acting today. He said he never felt strongly attached to public perception and described his mindset as “positive insecurity.” He joked about how that might sound when people read it later. Zendaya laughed and replied, “Public perceptions! Stressing!”
One of the most talked-about moments from the interview came when Pattinson shared a short story about therapy. “I went to therapy once and the therapist asked me if I was on drugs because they couldn’t understand what I was talking about. I was like, ‘I’m trying my best.’” Zendaya answered, “Well, I thought that was a very informative answer.”
The interview arrives as the pair prepare for their upcoming film The Drama, directed by Kristoffer Borgli and produced by Ari Aster through Square Peg. The movie follows an engaged couple whose relationship unravels shortly before their wedding. Pattinson recently revealed he became obsessed with one part of the script and spent days overthinking it until Zendaya calmed him down during a long phone call.
Their collaboration does not stop there. The actors are also set to appear together in The Odyssey directed by Christopher Nolan alongside Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway. They will reunite again for Dune: Messiah, adding even more anticipation around the duo.
Outside of shared projects, both stars have busy schedules. Pattinson is preparing to return in The Batman: Part II, while Zendaya is set to reprise her role in the next season of Euphoria.
Their honest and relaxed chemistry is what makes this partnership so interesting. They feel real and not overly polished, which is rare in Hollywood. What do you think about their growing partnership? Do you see them as one of the biggest acting duos right now? Share your thoughts in the comments.
