Charithra Chandran Leaves a Lasting Impression in a Figure-Defining Ensemble at the ‘One Piece’ Premiere
Charithra Chandran joined fans and cast members at the premiere of One Piece: Into the Grand Line, marking the next step for the live-action story as it moves toward one of its biggest arcs.
The new season brings the Straw Hat crew into the Grand Line. This part of the journey introduces new threats and major storylines, including the path toward Drum Island and the events connected to Alabasta.
Chandran, who plays both Miss Wednesday and Nefertari Vivi, has spoken in interviews about how she approached joining the world created by Eiichiro Oda. She explained how important the original manga is for the cast, saying, Oda-sensei’s manga is the Bible for us in the show, of course, while the anime is supplementary for us.

She also talked about her role in the wider story. As she shared, in the expansive universe of One Piece, I play a small part – she is a beautiful piece in a huge puzzle that is the whole story.
Filming the series has also surprised her in some ways. She said, Shockingly, how practical it is… in One Piece, at least, the sets are all real, the stuff happening is all real.
Outside of the series, Chandran has taken on several other projects. She appeared in Dune: Prophecy and worked on the action comedy Fight or Flight with Josh Hartnett. She also starred in Christmas Karma. Many viewers first noticed her in Bridgerton.
Returning cast members include Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar. New additions this season include Joe Manganiello, Katey Sagal, David Dastmalchian, and Lera Abova.
The first two episodes will be shown in cinemas starting March 10, 2026, in the United States, Canada, and Japan. Production has continued in South Africa to bring the next stage of the story to life.
Netflix has also confirmed that work on a third season is already underway, with Oda still involved in guiding the direction of the adaptation.
Bringing the Alabasta story into live action could be a big test for the show. It is a major part of the original story and means a lot to fans. What do you think about this next chapter and Chandran’s role in it? Share your thoughts in the comments.
