Elijah Blue Allman, the youngest son of music legend Cher, was arrested on Friday, February 27, in Concord, New Hampshire. Local authorities were called to the St. Paul’s School campus around 7:00 p.m. following reports of an unwanted guest in the dining hall.

Witnesses described a male acting in a belligerent manner, prompting the school to seek police intervention for the disturbance. Upon arrival, officers identified the man as the 49-year-old musician, who reportedly had no official connection to the prestigious prep school.

Allman was taken into custody and faces several charges, including two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing, and disorderly conduct. He was also charged with criminal threatening before being released on personal recognizance bail.

Neither Cher nor Allman’s legal team has issued a formal statement regarding the incident. This latest legal trouble follows a period of relative quiet after a highly publicized battle over a proposed conservatorship.

Cher had previously sought legal control over her son’s affairs, citing concerns about his mental health and a cycle of substance abuse, but she eventually dropped the filing in late 2024. At the time the petition was dismissed, Allman’s attorneys noted that the family was focused on healing and rebuilding their family bond.

They suggested that the mediation process had been successful in allowing the parties to move forward together. However, this arrest suggests that the path to stability may still be quite rocky for the musician.

Elijah Blue Allman is the only child of Cher and the late rock icon Gregg Allman. Like his parents, he pursued a career in the arts, famously leading the industrial rock band Deadsy as their vocalist and guitarist.

The band, which developed a cult following in the early 2000s with its album Commencement, has seen a recent resurgence in interest. Fans of the group were treated to a special vinyl re-release of Commencement just days before Allman’s arrest.

While a new studio album titled Subterfugue has been teased for several years, it has yet to see an official release date. In February 2024, the band released their first new single in nearly two decades, “(study for a portrait of) Napoleon In Rags,” which sparked hope for a full-scale comeback.

Cher, meanwhile, remains as active as ever in her own career. She has been busy promoting her memoir and recently celebrated the remaster of her classic collaboration with Elijah, “Crimson and Clover.”

The 79-year-old superstar has also been teasing a potential new world tour for this year and 2027, which would feature songs from her recent Christmas album and her famous ABBA tribute. While her son prepares for his arraignment in Concord District Court on April 20, Cher continues to manage her vast entertainment empire.

She is reportedly working on new film projects and recently appeared in a high-profile documentary celebrating the history of the Allman Brothers Band. Despite the personal challenges within her family, she remains a powerhouse in the industry, balancing her legacy with new creative ventures.
