Nicole Kidman made a sophisticated appearance at the New York City premiere of her new television series, Scarpetta, showcasing a bold monochromatic style. For the event held at Regal Union Square on March 3, the 58-year-old actress opted for an oversized black double-breasted blazer featuring gold accents, paired with a delicate semi-sheer skirt adorned with feather-like detailing.

The Academy Award winner completed her look with silver statement rings and wore her blonde hair in soft, natural waves. During the premiere, Kidman shared a personal sentiment regarding her daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, expressing that she would love to see them portray her in a future project if they chose that path.

Reflecting on the autonomy of her children as they grow into young women, she emphasized the importance of letting them define their own identities. She noted that they’re there to tell you who they are and that any decision regarding an acting career would ultimately have to come from them.

Kidman spoke warmly about the bond she shares with her daughters, calling them her loves and admitting she enjoys having them by her side as much as possible. Her Scarpetta co-star Bobby Cannavale experienced a similar family connection on set, as his son, Jake Cannavale, portrays a younger version of his character in the series.

The premiere follows a significant personal milestone for the actress, who recently celebrated Galentine’s Day. The occasion was her first following her late 2025 separation and subsequent divorce from Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage.

Social media followers were quick to offer their support after she shared a festive post marking the holiday, with many commenting that she appeared to be glowing in her new chapter. The actress has spent much of the early year focused on her family in Australia and her extensive professional lineup.

In the upcoming Prime Video thriller, Kidman takes on the role of Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a renowned forensic pathologist known for utilizing cutting-edge technology to crack difficult cases. The series explores the character’s return to Virginia to resume her former position, a move that forces her to confront unresolved professional and personal history.

The show features a high-caliber cast, including Jamie Lee Curtis as Kay’s sister, Dorothy Farinelli, and Ariana DeBose as her niece, Lucy. The narrative unfolds across two timelines, with younger versions of the central characters played by Rosy McEwen and Amanda Righetti, respectively.

Aside from her work in the forensic drama, Kidman has a packed schedule for the remainder of the year. She is set to reunite with Sandra Bullock for the highly anticipated sequel, Practical Magic 2, which is scheduled to hit theaters in September.

The actress is also involved in several other major productions, including the series Margo’s Got Money Troubles and the thriller Discretion. Additionally, fans are looking forward to her return in a new season of the acclaimed series Big Little Lies, which remains in development.

In the fashion world, Kidman’s influence remains strong as she continues her role as an ambassador for Chanel, frequently appearing at major industry events in Paris. Her ability to balance high-fashion commitments with intense dramatic roles has solidified her status as one of the most prolific figures in contemporary entertainment.

As Scarpetta prepares for its global debut on March 11, the series is expected to be a major contender in the procedural genre. With a foundation built on Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling novels, the project marks another significant achievement in Kidman’s transition toward leading prestige television.
