Cult Secrets and Twisted Faith: Molly Windsor and Asa Butterfield Lead the Chilling New Drama Unchosen — Watch the Trailer Now
Netflix has released the first teaser for its new psychological drama Unchosen, and it already looks dark and intense. The series stars Molly Windsor and Asa Butterfield, along with Christopher Eccleston, Siobhan Finneran, and Fra Fee. Details about the show and its trailer were shared by Netflix through its Tudum platform.
Unchosen is a six-episode thriller created and written by Julie Gearey. The story takes place inside a strict and secretive religious group. Windsor plays Rosie, a wife and mother who lives in this closed Christian community with her husband Adam, played by Butterfield, and their young daughter.
Life in the group appears calm and controlled at first. But everything changes when Sam, an escaped prisoner played by Fee, arrives. His presence forces Rosie to question the rules she has always followed. As her marriage begins to struggle, Sam grows closer to her. The show asks a clear question: is the real threat the cult, or the man from the outside?

In the teaser, Eccleston’s character, Mr. Phillips, speaks to his followers. We are blessed to live our lives within this community, where love binds us and our families flourish, where our women nurture, and our men provide, safe from the temptations of the world outside and from the evil that lies within, he says. The images in the trailer suggest something very different. The community looks tense and secretive, and not everyone seems safe.
Gearey serves as writer, creator, and executive producer. Iona Vrolyk and Myar Craig-Brown are also executive producers for Double Dutch Productions, and Nick Pitt is the producer. The series is directed by Philippa Langdale and Jim Loach.
Unchosen will explore control, faith, marriage, and freedom. The trailer hints at emotional conflict and hidden danger. Netflix has not yet announced the exact release date, but the show is coming soon.
From what we have seen so far, Unchosen looks like a tense and bold drama. Stories about secret communities can be powerful when done right, and this cast has strong talent.
