New ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Teaser Reveals the Return of a Major Marvel Character
A new teaser has revealed that a familiar character will return in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The short preview was recently released by Disney and it shows the comeback of Jack Duquesne, also known as the Swordsman. The character is played by Tony Dalton.
Dalton’s character had a brief appearance in the first season of the series. He showed up during one of the later episodes and quickly caught the attention of viewers. Even though his role was small, the teaser suggests he will be more involved in the next season.
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again became one of the standout television releases of 2025. The story focused on the growing power of Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, as he strengthened his influence over New York City. By the end of the season, the villain had gained a strong position, leaving the heroes in a difficult place.

Season 2 is expected to continue directly from that moment. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, who will once again step in to challenge Fisk’s control. The new season will show him working with allies as he tries to push back against the crime lord and protect the city.
The Swordsman first appeared in the show during the sixth episode of the first season. In that moment, Jack Duquesne stepped forward to help people and showed his skills with a sword. However, his actions eventually led to him being captured by Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Force.
Although his time on screen was limited, the character clearly left room for more story. Several members of the cast have previously said in interviews that the first season mainly set up the larger plot. According to them, the bigger events will unfold in the next season, which explains why characters like the Swordsman may receive more attention.
Jack Duquesne first entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the series Hawkeye, which premiered in 2021. When he first appeared, the character seemed suspicious and many viewers believed he might become a villain. Later in the story, however, he showed a more heroic side, which helped him gain support from fans.
Because Marvel sometimes introduces characters briefly and then moves on to other stories, many viewers believed the Swordsman’s appearance in Season 1 was only a small cameo. The new teaser confirms that the character will return, and it suggests he may have a bigger part to play as the conflict in New York continues.
Bringing the Swordsman back is a smart decision. The character already made an impression despite having limited screen time. Giving him a larger role could add more depth to the story and expand Daredevil’s group of allies. What do you think about the Swordsman returning in the next season of Daredevil: Born Again?
