The Disney Channel alumnus who starred in ‘Lemonade Mouth’ and ‘Zeke and Luther’ faced a major legal downfall in 2018. After spending years in and out of the legal system and undergoing mental health evaluations he was sentenced to five years in state prison. He received credit for time served and was released on parole in 2022. This incident marked a drastic shift for the actor who was once a staple of family friendly television.

Kris Wu

The Chinese Canadian actor and former Korean pop idol has appeared in major films like ‘XXX Return of Xander Cage’ and ‘Journey to the West The Demons Strike Back’. In 2022 a court in Beijing sentenced him to thirteen years in prison after finding him guilty of rape and organizing a crowd to engage in sexual promiscuity. The charges stemmed from a 2021 scandal involving multiple victims some of whom were reportedly intoxicated. Following his sentence he will likely face deportation from China. Bryshere Y. Gray

Best known for his role as Hakeem Lyon on the hit series ‘Empire’ this actor has dealt with recurring legal issues. In 2021 he was sentenced to ten days in county jail and three years of probation after pleading guilty to felony aggravated assault. The charges involved a domestic violence incident where a SWAT team had to be called to his home. He later violated his probation and was ordered to serve additional time behind bars. Despite his early success on television his legal troubles have largely overshadowed his acting career in recent years.

The performer and actor known for his appearances in ‘High and Low The Movie’ and the television drama ‘Angel Eyes’ was a central figure in the Burning Sun scandal. A military court initially sentenced him to three years though this was later reduced to eighteen months upon appeal. He completed his full prison sentence and was released in early 2023. Stephen Bear

This television personality and actor who appeared in various reality drama formats and the film ‘The Rise of the Footsoldier’ was sentenced to prison in 2023. He was found guilty of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films. The court sentenced him to twenty one months in custody for sharing explicit content of his former partner without her consent. The ‘K.C. Undercover’ and ‘Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns’ actor faced legal consequences following a domestic dispute. Dee Jay Daniels

As a child star he was a regular on ‘The Hughleys’ and made appearances in ‘In the House’ and ‘Coach’. In 2011 he was arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Stockton. He spent nearly twenty one months in jail while awaiting trial and facing the possibility of life in prison. In 2012 he was acquitted of all charges and released from custody after a jury found him not guilty. While he was eventually cleared the long period of incarceration during his young adulthood significantly interrupted his life and career.
