Rihanna faced a frightening security breach this past Sunday afternoon when a woman was taken into custody for allegedly opening fire near her Los Angeles residence. Law enforcement officials responded to reports of gunfire around 1:15 p.m. at the singer’s property in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood.

The suspect, described as a woman in her 30s, reportedly discharged several rounds from an AR-15-style rifle while positioned inside a white Tesla. Witnesses and local authorities indicated that approximately ten shots were fired during the disturbance, with at least one bullet reportedly piercing an exterior wall of the mansion.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the immediate area in her vehicle toward Coldwater Canyon Drive. She was apprehended by police a short time later at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, where she was taken into custody without further incident.

At the time of the shooting, Rihanna was reportedly inside the home, though she was fortunately unharmed by the gunfire. It remains unclear if her partner, A$AP Rocky, or their three young children—RZA, Riot Rose, and five-month-old Rocki—were present during the event.

Authorities have successfully recovered a weapon at the scene and are currently investigating the motive behind the attack, while the singer’s representatives have yet to issue a formal statement.

This startling event comes during a busy period for the 38-year-old superstar, who has recently been balancing her massive business empire with a return to the recording studio.

Fans have been particularly excited by recent social media clips and a day-in-the-life video she shared on February 26, which documented late-night sessions at a New York City studio.

These updates have reignited anticipation for her ninth studio album, often referred to as R9, which would mark her first full-length project since the release of ANTI a decade ago. In addition to her music, she continues to expand her influence in the film and fashion industries, recently voicing the character Smurfette for the Smurfs movie.

She also celebrated the tenth anniversary of ANTI this year, an album that has reached diamond status and continues to be cited as a blueprint for modern pop and R&B. Reports have also circulated regarding a potential world tour slated for later this year to commemorate her career milestones and the anniversary of her groundbreaking eighth album.

While her business ventures like Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty have made her America’s youngest self-made billionaire, her recent studio activity suggests a renewed focus on her artistry.

Despite the long wait for new material, the singer has emphasised that she is taking her time to ensure the next project reflects her personal and professional evolution. Between her growing family and her multifaceted career, she remains one of the most resilient and influential figures in the global entertainment landscape.
