Kit Harington made a big impression during his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 9. Fans quickly reacted online, not only to his conversation with Fallon but also to his polished and confident style.

The actor also opened up about the types of roles that attract him. I’ve always been drawn to the characters who are a bit frayed at the edges, he said, referring to his work in the latest season of HBO’s Industry.

In Industry, Harington plays Henry Muck, an aristocratic green-tech CEO navigating personal and professional challenges. Critics have praised his performance, noting a depth and complexity that contrast with his earlier work as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones.

Fans have also seen Harington back on the big screen with The Dreadful, a Gothic horror film released in February. The movie, directed by Natasha Kermani, stars Harington as Jago, a soldier returning from war with secrets that disrupt a family’s life. The film also features Marcia Gay Harden and reunited Harington with former Game of Thrones co-star Sophie Turner. Harington joked to Fallon about the experience, It was definitely a bit strange at first, given our history, echoing Turner’s own comments on the reunion.

Outside of his career, Harington remains focused on his family life with wife Rose Leslie and their two children. Despite stepping away from the world of dragons and ice, he continues to challenge himself with a variety of projects that span acting, directing, and producing.

Harington’s shift from action hero to complex, layered characters shows his growth as an actor. His move into directing also signals that he is ready to shape stories in his own voice. How do you feel about his transformation from Jon Snow to Henry Muck, and are you excited to see his directorial debut? Share your thoughts in the comments.
