Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck is preparing for the prestigious official after-party for the Academy Awards. Puck and his expansive culinary team have curated a massive menu featuring more than 70 distinct dishes designed to satisfy the cravings of 1,500 A-list attendees.

The banquet, set for Sunday evening, balances high-end luxury with the comforting classics that have become staples of the post-Oscars celebration. Guests can look forward to iconic favorites such as Puck’s signature smoked salmon pizza, creamy macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie infused with black truffle, and mini Wagyu beef sliders.

This year’s menu also introduces new culinary experiences, including a live izakaya station serving Japanese-style pub fare and fresh sushi, alongside a high-end Italian gelato machine. Puck emphasized that despite the glamorous setting, the focus remains on simple, high-quality preparation.

“It’s all about the quality of the ingredients and the quality of the dishes,” Puck remarked during a recent press preview in Los Angeles. “We have to cook for 1,500 people. We keep it simple. We don’t need 10 sauces with it.”

He also noted that while he occasionally tries to innovate, the star-studded crowd consistently gravitates toward his classic comfort offerings. Executing a banquet of this magnitude is a monumental logistical operation that requires a team of 75 savory chefs, 45 pastry specialists, and over 300 support staff.

The team will prepare thousands of items, including roughly 600 handmade pizzas, 3,000 artichoke agnolotti, and 2,000 miniature chocolate Oscars. These signature chocolate statuettes, sprayed with 24-karat edible gold, remain a highly anticipated souvenir for the guests who attend the event.

Beyond the Oscars, Wolfgang Puck has recently entered a significant new chapter in his legendary career. As of March 3, he has officially transitioned the leadership of his billion-dollar restaurant empire to his 26-year-old son, Byron Lazaroff-Puck.

Byron, who has worked in the family business since childhood, is now the President of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group and is currently leading a “Generational Tasting Tour” to celebrate the company’s legacy.

Puck remains an active ambassador for the culinary arts and is currently expanding his footprint internationally, including the opening of new restaurant locations in Austria and beyond.

Meanwhile, Hollywood is gearing up for the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, which will be held this Sunday, March 15, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien for the second year in a row, the ceremony is expected to be a major celebration of the year’s standout cinema.
