Simone Ashley Shakes Up ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ in New Official Trailer
A new official trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has arrived, giving fans a glimpse of Bridgerton star Simone Ashley in her new role. The teaser, released by Disney to celebrate tickets going on sale in the US, shows Ashley’s character stepping into the high-pressure world of Runway magazine, where Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) continues to reign with her sharp tongue.
In the clip, Miranda critiques the latest photos for the magazine, asking Andy (Anne Hathaway) if “the models were encouraged to mill around like starving goats in the parking lot of a methadone clinic in New Jersey.”
Ashley’s character interrupts to get Miranda’s attention and jokes, “What? What am I not allowed to say? Methadone? New Jersey?” It seems she might be there to make sure Miranda doesn’t go too far, a challenging job, no doubt.
The moment is here.

Simone Ashley joins a mix of returning and new stars for the sequel. Alongside Streep, Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, Ashley has been part of the cast since July 2025, when other names like Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, and BJ Novak also came on board.
The story picks up with Andy back at Runway, helping Miranda keep the magazine relevant in a changing media landscape. Emily Blunt’s character, who no longer works at Runway, is now leading a luxury brand. Her position and access to commercial funding could play a key role in Runway’s survival.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to hit cinemas on May 1, 2026. Fans of the original are excited to see how the dynamic between Miranda, Andy, and the new characters unfolds. With Ashley’s playful energy and the iconic returning cast, the sequel promises a fresh yet familiar mix of fashion, drama, and humor.
Simone Ashley brings an interesting spark to the sequel, balancing the sharpness of Miranda with her own charm. It’s exciting to see how the next generation of Runway staff shakes up the office. What do you think about her role and the new trailer? Share your thoughts in the comments.
