Kate Hudson celebrated a big night at the 2026 Oscars with her family close. She posed on the red carpet with her mother, Goldie Hawn, and her stepfather, Kurt Russell, creating a warm family moment that caught everyone’s attention.

Hudson, 46, looked radiant in a shimmery green gown, while Hawn complemented her in a classic black dress. The family photo highlighted their close bond as they prepared to enjoy the awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 15.

The actress is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Song Sung Blue. She faces tough competition in the category from Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, and Emma Stone for Bugonia. This is Hudson’s second Oscar nomination, following her 2001 nod for Best Supporting Actress for Almost Famous.

Hudson’s family and fiancé Danny Fujikawa have supported her throughout awards season. The couple shared date nights at the Golden Globes in January and the BAFTA Film Awards in February. Earlier in March, Hudson brought her brother, Oliver Hudson, as her plus one to the SAG Actor Awards because Fujikawa was sick. “Danny got, like, crazy sick, and I was like, ‘Oliver, you need to be my date!’” she explained. Oliver, 49, joked about his tuxedo: “It’s literally vintage Tom Ford because I’ve just had it for that long.”

Kate and Fujikawa have been together since 2016. They welcomed their daughter, Rani Rose, 7, in 2018, and announced their engagement in 2021. Hudson also shares son Ryder, 22, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and son Bingham, 14, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.

In a 2025 interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Kate admitted she isn’t in a rush to officially marry Fujikawa. “I like the idea of being engaged forever. I love it, but then … I long for the gravy boat [off the wedding registry],” she said, noting that she values freedom and independence.

The Oscars family photo with Hawn and Russell perfectly captured the supportive environment Hudson has around her, making her red carpet moment as heartfelt as it was glamorous.

Seeing Hudson surrounded by her parents added a warm, personal touch to her big night. It’s refreshing to see a Hollywood family celebrate together while she takes on such a major milestone.
