‘The Sandlot’ Star Caught in Explosive Late-Night Brawl Outside L.A. Club
The Sandlot actor Marty York was caught on camera during a physical fight outside a nightclub in Los Angeles, according to footage obtained by TMZ.
The incident reportedly happened on Saturday night outside the Warwick nightclub on Sunset Boulevard. Video shows York getting into a fight with a larger man on the sidewalk before the situation moved into a nearby parking garage.
In the footage, York is seen throwing punches while also taking hits to the face. At one point, he takes off his shirt as the fight continues between parked cars. Both men appear unsteady, and the other man is seen falling to the ground during the exchange.
Speaking to TMZ, York claimed he did not start the fight. He said, “Some unknown individual charged at me, and I had to defend myself.” No police were called to the scene, and the situation ended without reported arrests.
York is best known for playing Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan in The Sandlot. After early success in acting, his career slowed down following a serious car accident when he was 17. The crash left him with major injuries and led him to step away from acting for a period of time.
In the years since, he has worked as a fitness trainer and focused on rebuilding his life. He has also faced personal loss. His sister died from a drug overdose, and his mother, Deanna Esmaeel, was later killed in a separate incident. Her partner was later found guilty of the crime.
York once spoke about his mother’s determination to serve in law enforcement, saying, “For years, she learned how to fight, got sprayed in the face with Mace, learned how to use weapons, beat cadets in their 30s at obstacle courses, passed out, got back up, failed again and got back up.”
Despite past challenges, York is now working on returning to acting, with a reported role in an upcoming ABC television project.
This situation shows how quickly things can get out of control in public places, especially late at night. Even if someone claims self-defense, it still raises questions about what really happened. York has had a difficult life, and moments like this can bring unwanted attention. What do you think about this incident? Do you believe his side of the story? Share your thoughts in the comments.
