Apple TV has released the first trailer for “Outcome,” a dark comedy directed by Jonah Hill and starring Keanu Reeves. In a twist on his well-known reputation as one of Hollywood’s nicest stars, Reeves plays Reef Hawk, a movie star with a long list of people he needs to make amends with.

According to the trailer, Reef is described by his friends Kyle (Cameron Diaz) and Xander (Matt Bomer) as “for the last four decades, America’s favorite movie star,” known for roles in “three of the biggest franchises in film history.” After a five-year break from acting, during which he struggled with a heroin addiction he plans to keep secret, Reef is ready to return to the spotlight.

The story takes a turn when his lawyer, played by Jonah Hill, discovers a compromising video that could ruin Reef’s career. Reef teams up with a crisis PR team to track down the blackmailer. Their plan includes apologizing to everyone Reef may have wronged over the years. The list is long, and the trailer even teases a cameo from legendary director Martin Scorsese.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Welker White, Kaia Gerber, and Ivy Wolk. Hill co-wrote the script with Ezra Woods, who previously collaborated with him on the upcoming Warner Bros. film Cut Off, set for release on July 17. Hill also produces Outcome.

This is Hill’s second feature as a director, following Mid ’90s in 2018, and marks his return to acting since his 2023 Netflix project You People, which he co-wrote and starred in.

Outcome will be available to stream on Apple TV starting April 10.

It looks like a fun, chaotic ride that plays with Keanu Reeves’ public image in a clever way. I’m curious what fans thinkm are you excited to see Reeves in this dark comedic role? Share your thoughts in the comments.
