Alexander Skarsgård (49) Turns Heads in Dior at ‘Pillion’ Berlin Premiere
For anyone who assumed Alexander Skarsgård’s eccentric red carpet appearances were a thing of the past after his 2025 press run for Pillion, the Swedish actor has proven that his bold energy is here to stay.
On Friday, March 20, he arrived at a special screening in Berlin looking ready to keep the conversation going. Skarsgård is not quite finished with this specific fashion era, as he continues to push the boundaries of traditional menswear.

He chose a purple embellished tank top from the Dior Fall collection, a piece that draws inspiration from a 1922 design by Paul Poiret. This reference is quite interesting because it fits the playful and slightly subversive narrative he has established throughout this tour.
This type of experimental look is something many would expect from someone like Harry Styles, which makes sense given that both stars share the same stylist, Harry Lambert. From backless tops in London to this decorative piece in Berlin, Skarsgård is firmly committed to this new lane.
However, the execution of this specific look hits a snag when it comes to the fit. While the top has a more relaxed silhouette on the runway, on Skarsgård, it appears significantly tighter across his torso.
This compression makes the embellished fabric look somewhat restrictive rather than effortless. Because his frame is notably broader than the runway model’s, a larger size might have allowed the intricate detailing to breathe and created a more balanced silhouette.
There are a couple of reasons why the fit might be so snug, including the possibility that only one sample size was available for the event. Another theory is that the tight, second-skin fit was a deliberate choice to mirror the BDSM themes present in the film.
In that context, the restrictive nature of the tank top could be seen as a metaphorical nod to the story. Regardless of the fit issues, the actor’s willingness to experiment remains a breath of fresh air on the red carpet.
Outside of his recent fashion statements, Alexander Skarsgård has been keeping an incredibly busy schedule as he moves through the year. He recently finished a successful run in the A24 mockumentary The Moment, where he played a director alongside Charli XCX.
Fans of the actor can also look forward to seeing him in the upcoming gothic horror film The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands. This project, directed by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén, is scheduled for release in May and features Skarsgård in a haunting period role.
In his current film Pillion, he stars alongside Harry Melling, playing an enigmatic biker who enters a complex relationship with a shy young man. The movie, which is the directorial debut of Harry Lighton, has been praised for its authentic and respectful depiction of kink subcultures.
Between these diverse roles and his high-profile television work, Skarsgård continues to be one of the most versatile performers in the industry. He remains a staple of the global film festival circuit and is expected to make several more appearances as Pillion continues its international rollout.
