Sarah Michelle Gellar and ‘Ready or Not 2’ Stars Escape Hotel Amid Mass Evacuation
Sarah Michelle Gellar and her co-stars from the upcoming horror-comedy “Ready or Not 2” were forced to evacuate a Paris hotel after a fire broke out. The incident happened at the five-star Palace Le Bristol, a historic hotel often visited by celebrities and world leaders. French authorities confirmed that around 400 guests, including Gellar, Kathryn Newton, and Elijah Wood, were safely evacuated.
The fire started in the hotel’s basement kitchen around 11:20 a.m. local time on Wednesday. The Paris Fire Brigade said it was a “fairly significant” blaze, and around 100 firefighters were dispatched to bring it under control. Three people reportedly received minor injuries and are being treated. A hotel spokesperson told Le Parisien, “Everything is under control. The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority.”
At the time, the cast and crew were attending a press event for “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” which is set to hit theaters on April 8 in Europe. TMZ reported that the fire broke out during the junket, but everyone on the promo tour was unharmed. Following the evacuation, Kathryn Newton shared an Instagram video from her hotel room, captioning it, “Press day 1,075,790 of #ReadyOrNot2 in PARIS!!!! Get tickets now! In cinemas April 8 in Europe.”
Palace Le Bristol is a landmark hotel in Paris, known for its luxury and its appearance in Woody Allen’s 2011 film Midnight in Paris. The building recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a century of elegance and French tradition.
