Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Joseph Baena Scores Major Bodybuilding Victory in First Competition
Joseph Baena is officially carrying on the family legacy after a huge performance in his very first bodybuilding show.
The 28-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger dominated the stage at the NPC Natural Colorado State competition this past Saturday in Denver. He didn’t just participate; he walked away with several top honors.
According to reports from TMZ and Just Jared, Joseph took home first place in three different categories. He won the Men’s Open Bodybuilding Heavy Weight Class, the Men’s Classic Physique True Novice, and the Men’s Classic Physique Novice. On top of those gold medals, he also earned a silver in the Men’s Classic Physique Open Class C.
After the event, he celebrated on Instagram by posting photos of his hard work with the caption Mission Accomplished!
It turns out Joseph had the best coach in the world helping him get ready. His father, the legendary seven-time Mr. Olympia winner, was seen training with him at Gold’s Gym in California before the big day. A video shared by TMZ showed the 78-year-old action star giving his son pointers on how to pose and flex properly.
Joseph has said before that he is inspired by everything his dad achieved in the fitness world. Now that he has started his own competitive career with such a big win, it looks like the training sessions with Arnold really paid off. He looked incredibly muscular on stage, and fans are already comparing his physique to the way his father looked during his own championship days.
I think it is really cool to see a father and son bond over something as intense as bodybuilding. Arnold is a legend in the sport, so having him in your corner must be a huge confidence boost. Joseph is clearly putting in the work to carve out his own path, even if he is following a very famous blueprint. It will be fun to see if he tries to go all the way to the Mr. Olympia stage one day just like his dad did.
