HBO has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, giving fans their first look at what’s coming next for Rue and the gang. In the latest preview, Zendaya’s Rue is in serious trouble, facing questioning by DEA agents over events connected to Mexico. The tense scenes hint at high stakes and darker turns for the character.

Season 3 jumps ahead several years after the main characters have left high school, exploring how their relationships have changed. The trailer also offers glimpses of Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, and Maddie, portrayed by Alexa Demie, showing the ongoing drama between the central group of friends. HBO shared the trailer across its official channels earlier this week.

The series is set to premiere on Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m., with new episodes dropping weekly. Created, written, and directed by Sam Levinson, Euphoria has become known for its cinematic style and bold storytelling. Season 3 will feature eight episodes and focus on themes like faith, redemption, and moral struggles as the characters navigate life after high school.

Returning cast members include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Toby Wallace. Colman Domingo, Dominic Fike, Nika King, Alanna Ubach, Sophia Rose Wilson, and others will also return, alongside new guest stars like Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Danielle Deadwyler, Marshawn Lynch, Natasha Lyonne, and more.

Colman Domingo spoke with Deadline at the Golden Globes, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. “We’re gonna have a devastatingly gorgeous, epic season that I think is breaking the mold of television,” he said. “I think it’s gonna become more cinema than television.” Domingo also teased that his character, Ali Muhammed, who becomes Rue’s NA sponsor, will have more of his backstory explored this season.

Production wrapped in November in Los Angeles, with the show receiving a $19.4 million California tax credit. Season 3 was shot using both 35mm and 65mm Kodak motion picture film, making it the first narrative TV series to film a significant portion in 65mm. HBO says this expanded format reflects the characters’ journeys as they leave high school and enter a larger, more chaotic world.

The series is executive produced by Sam Levinson, Ashley Levinson, Sara E. White, Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Drake, Future, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Mirit Toovi, Tmira Yardeni, Yoram Mokady, and Gary Lennon. Euphoria is based on the Israeli series of the same name created by Leshem and Levin.

This new trailer makes it clear that Season 3 is shaping up to be intense, cinematic, and full of surprises. I think fans are in for one of the most dramatic and visually stunning seasons yet. What do you think Rue will face first when the new season drops? Share your thoughts in the comments.
