Amy Adams and Javier Bardem Descend Into Terror in Chilling ‘Cape Fear’ Trailer
Apple TV+ has released the first teaser for its upcoming remake of Cape Fear, and it looks intense. The limited series brings Amy Adams, Patrick Wilson, and Javier Bardem to the screen in a dark, psychological thriller. The show is executive produced by Martin Scorsese, who directed the 1991 film, and Steven Spielberg, who produced it.
The plot follows married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson), whose past catches up with them when Max Cady (Bardem) is released from prison. “A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden when Max Cady, the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison – and he wants vengeance,” the official description reads.
This new adaptation is led by showrunner Nick Antosca, known for Antlers and Channel Zero, with Morten Tyldum directing the pilot. The cast also includes Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, CCH Pounder, Alison Brie, and Morena Baccarin. The limited series is made up of ten episodes, with the first two scheduled to premiere on June 5.

Cape Fear has a long history. It started as John D. MacDonald’s 1957 novel The Executioners. Universal Pictures adapted it into a film in 1962 with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. Martin Scorsese’s 1991 remake starred Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, and Robert De Niro. The story has continued to captivate audiences for decades, and this series promises a modern, chilling take.
The new trailer is dark and gripping, giving viewers a taste of the suspense to come. It’s clear that Apple TV+ is aiming to create a tense, character-driven thriller that honors the story’s legacy while updating it for a new generation.
The casting of Amy Adams and Javier Bardem is inspired. Both actors have a strong presence and can deliver the intensity this story requires. I’m curious to see how the series balances suspense with character drama. What do you think about this new take on Cape Fear? Share your thoughts in the comments.
