Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are locked in a persistent disagreement regarding the start date of their trial over Chateau Miraval. According to court documents filed recently, the former couple cannot find common ground on when the legal battle over their French winery should officially begin.

While the trial is currently slated for February 1, 2027, Jolie is reportedly seeking a significant delay, requesting that the proceedings be pushed back to November 2027. Pitt has pushed back against this extension, expressing a desire to resolve the dispute sooner rather than later.

The actor noted that the ongoing litigation has interfered with his personal use of the estate, claiming the delay prevents him from the “quiet enjoyment of his home in France.” He has also voiced concerns regarding the winery’s current management, suggesting that the business has been negatively affected by the long-standing conflict and what he characterizes as a potential hostile takeover.

In his legal filings, Pitt argued that a swift resolution is necessary for all parties to move forward. He specifically pointed out that further delays could jeopardize the availability of essential witnesses.

He noted that Jolie’s former business manager, Terry Bird, “unfortunately passed away,” and expressed concern that other key individuals may become too ill to testify if the trial is pushed further into 2027. “The dispute has been stymied,” his team stated, emphasizing the need to settle the matter as quickly as possible.

Jolie, however, has countered by arguing that Pitt is responsible for the complexity of the case, citing the involvement of international witnesses and intricate legal issues. She has also dismissed his claims regarding his inability to enjoy the French estate.

Her legal team stated there is “no evidence anywhere that Mr. Pitt’s ability to live in his own home has been impacted by this case one iota.” As the two stars remain at an impasse, the court must now decide if the February date will hold or if the trial will be moved to the end of next year.

While their legal team battles in court, both actors have stayed busy with significant professional projects. Brad Pitt recently completed filming for the highly anticipated sequel The Adventures of Cliff Booth, which is scheduled for release on Netflix this year.

The film, directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino, sees Pitt reprising his Oscar-winning role from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Additionally, Pitt’s high-octane racing drama F1, which saw a successful theatrical run in the summer of 2025, continues to be a major title on digital platforms.

Angelina Jolie has also maintained a strong presence in the industry following her acclaimed performance in the 2025 biopic Maria. Furthermore, her directorial effort Without Blood, which premiered at festivals in late 2024, saw its wide release in 2025.
