A first teaser for Runner has been revealed, giving an early look at the new action film led by Alan Ritchson. The footage was shown at CinemaCon 2026, where details about the story and release date were also confirmed.

According to information presented at the event and the official teaser description, the film follows a former soldier named Hank Malone, played by Ritchson. He is given a mission that seems simple at first.

A man named Ben, played by Owen Wilson, hands him a cooler with a liver that must reach a sick child. Ben explains the urgency, saying, “There’s a little girl that’s very sick, and you’re delivering her new liver.” From that moment, the situation becomes serious because the delivery must happen on time.

The teaser quickly shows that things go wrong. Armed attackers appear and try to take the organ. The value of the liver is mentioned, with an estimate that it could be worth up to $1 million on the black market. This turns the mission into a dangerous chase. Hank decides to push forward no matter what, leading to fast action scenes with fights, car crashes, and explosions.

By the end of the teaser, Hank is seen inside a hospital still holding the case. He makes it clear he will not fail, saying, “There’s nothing in the world that’s going to keep us from getting to you.” The official description of the film explains that the story is about a man racing against time while being hunted by a violent cartel, trying to complete the delivery before it is too late.

The movie is directed by Scott Waugh, who previously worked on Expend4bles. It is being released by Angel Studios. The script was written by Miles Hubley and Tommy White, and it gained attention earlier after being included on the 2023 Black List, which highlights popular unproduced screenplays.

Alongside Ritchson and Wilson, the cast includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Adriana Barraza, Sullivan Stapleton, Peta Sergeant, and Geraldine Hakewill. Production began in Australia in 2025 and wrapped later that year.

Runner is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 11.

The movie looks simple but effective. The story is easy to follow, and the high-stakes situation makes it interesting right away. It feels like a classic action film with a clear goal and strong tension. If the film keeps this energy, it could be a solid hit. What do you think about the teaser?
