‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Packed Sets With 35 Actors at a Time, Says Kevin Feige
Kevin Feige has given a new look at how large Avengers: Doomsday really is. In a recent interview with Fandango, he spoke about the scale of filming and how crowded the set could get during production.
Feige said some scenes brought together a huge number of actors at once. “There were days that 30, 35 actors were on set at the same time, some of whom have been playing these characters for decades. Some of whom have just been playing them for a year or so. And they both make them feel so comfortable that they can begin to further develop these characters.” His comments highlight how the film mixes long-time Marvel stars with newer faces.
The movie is built around a major crossover. Characters from different groups all come together in one story. This includes the Avengers, heroes from Wakanda, members of the Fantastic Four, and also the X-Men. The plot connects different universes, which allows all of them to appear in the same film.
Feige also revealed that the production reused some sets from past X-Men movies. This detail shows how Marvel is linking its newer projects with older films in a more direct way.
The project is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. The script is written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. Robert Downey Jr. leads the cast, but this time he plays Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man.
The movie had a long path before reaching this stage. Earlier plans were different, but the story changed direction over time. The return of the Russo brothers helped shape the current version of the film.
Filming took place in 2025, mainly at Pinewood Studios in England, with additional scenes shot in Bahrain. Production has already wrapped, and the movie is set to arrive in December 2026. Another Avengers film is already planned for the year after.
This film sounds very ambitious. Bringing together so many characters can be exciting, but it also makes the story harder to manage. It will depend on how well everything is put together. What do you think about such a huge Marvel crossover? Share your thoughts in the comments.
