Warner Bros. has released the first teaser for Practical Magic 2 after showing it earlier at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The studio has now shared it publicly, giving fans a first real look at the long-awaited sequel.

The film brings back Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters, Sally and Gillian. The story continues the idea from the original 1998 movie, where their family has lived under a curse for generations. The curse is tied to love and loss, and the sisters are now trying to break it while dealing with secrets from their past.

The teaser starts with a voiceover from Sandra Bullock’s character. She says, “I’m sure you’ve heard of the Owens family — the ones from Massachusetts, the ones their neighbors whisper are witches.” This sets the tone for the story right away.

Later in the footage, Lee Pace appears as a new character who meets the sisters. In one moment, Bullock’s character warns him, “Everyone we love dies.” Nicole Kidman’s character responds with humor, saying, “A really horrible death…It’s not great for the Tinder bio.”

The trailer also shows scenes with Joey King and Maisie Williams, who play the daughters of Sally Owens. Their story is connected to the same family curse, which still affects the next generation.

At one point, Kidman’s character tries to stay hopeful and says, “Everything’s going to be okay.” Bullock quickly pushes back, reminding her of their past struggles and asking if things will really be fine after everything they have gone through.

The sequel is directed by Susanne Bier, who takes over from the original director Griffin Dunne. The script is written by Akiva Goldsman, who worked on the first film, along with Georgia Pritchett. The movie is produced by Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Denise Di Novi.

The cast also includes returning actors Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing, along with new names like Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.

The film is scheduled to release in theaters on September 11. According to Warner Bros., the teaser is the first step in bringing the sequel back to audiences after many years of anticipation.

This sequel has a lot of pressure on it because the original film has a strong fan base. The mix of returning stars and new characters could work well if the story keeps the emotional bond between the sisters at the center. The teaser also suggests a balance of humor and dark themes, which fits the tone of the original. What do you think about this first look at Practical Magic 2? Share your thoughts in the comments.
