The 2017 film Murder on the Orient Express was a massive financial success. It earned $350 million at the box office on a budget of only $55 million. Kenneth Branagh directed the movie and hired a very famous cast. The group included stars like Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, and Olivia Colman. Even though many people went to see it, critics gave the movie mixed reviews.

Both Michelle Pfeiffer and Judi Dench starred in the film. These two women are among the most respected actors in the industry. Judi Dench has worked in acting for over 60 years. She has eight Academy Award nominations and two wins. Michelle Pfeiffer is also highly successful. She has earned three Academy Award nominations and eight Golden Globe nods during her career.

Despite her own success, Pfeiffer was overwhelmed when she met Dench on set. She told Vanity Fair that she actually broke down in tears. She felt a lot of pressure to perform well because she did not want to fail in front of such a legend.

Pfeiffer said, “When I met her, I just cried…tears coming down my face. Wah! I was just completely starstruck and moved by meeting her. It just takes jumping into the deep end, but it’s hard to trust that in the beginning. And so I was at that stage, and I’m acting in front of Judi Dench, and I’m thinking, ‘OK, you cannot bomb in front of Judi Dench. This just can’t happen‘.”

This reaction is surprising because Pfeiffer has been a household name since the 1990s. She became a global icon for her roles in movies like Batman Returns and Dangerous Minds. However, even after years of fame, she proved that she can still feel like a fan when meeting her own heroes.

It is wonderful to see this kind of humility from a major star. It shows that Michelle Pfeiffer still has a deep respect for the art of acting and for those who came before her. It makes her feel much more relatable to the public.
