A new update has given fans a small but interesting look at Marvel’s upcoming series VisionQuest. A photo from the set is now online, and it hints at a new character who could play an important role in the story.

The image was shared on Instagram by the account HMG Actors. It shows actor Cristian Lavin, who is part of the cast.

According to the post, he will play a character described as the “lead Merc.” The post also praises his performance and says he could stand out in the series. It reads, “Cristian takes on the role of the lead Merc, starring alongside Paul Bettany. With his powerful on-screen presence and dynamic energy, he’s set to be a true standout in this all-star cast.” The same source also confirmed that the show is expected to stream later this year on Disney+.

The series continues the story that began in WandaVision. It will follow the version of Vision who appeared at the end of that show. This version has no memories and no emotions, which opens the door for a very different kind of story.

Paul Bettany returns as Vision, while James Spader is also back as Ultron. The cast includes Todd Stashwick and T’Nia Miller as well. The show is created by Terry Matalas.

Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum shared some insight about the story. He said, “[VisionQuest] is really about fathers and sons. And, specifically, about three generations of grandfather-father-son. Can a man who had an abusive father be a good father himself? It gets very emotional at times. And it’s exciting. It’s an exciting adventure. When you see Vision kicking ass and you get all that Marvel fun and adventure, it’s all done on the backdrop of real human stakes and emotion, which makes the show feel very grand. It’s like an adrenaline rush, it’s emotional, and it really delivers on a lot of things that I hope people have come to expect from Marvel.”

For now, Marvel has not shared an exact release date. Still, the new image and casting details are enough to keep fans curious as they wait for more updates.

This show could go in a very different direction compared to other Marvel series. The focus on emotions and family themes sounds interesting, especially with a character like Vision who is trying to understand himself again. If done well, it could stand out from the usual superhero stories. What do you think about this new look at VisionQuest? Are you excited for the show? Share your thoughts in the comments.
