From Vampires to Stadiums: ‘The Vampire Lestat’ Teases Lestat’s Wild New Life
AMC has released a new trailer for The Vampire Lestat, which is the renamed continuation of Interview with the Vampire season 3. The preview gives fans a first real look at the next chapter in the story based on Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe.
The trailer brings back Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, showing him in a bold new phase of his life. This time, he steps into the spotlight as a rock star, performing across different cities on a full tour. One of the standout moments in the teaser is Lestat singing “Dancing With Myself” by Billy Idol.
The tone of the series is still dark, even with all the music and fame. Lestat’s new life is filled with attention and power, but he is not free from his past. The trailer shows that he is still dealing with old memories and voices that follow him. It also hints that his story is now something he wants to control himself after events that exposed vampires to the public through Daniel Molloy, played by Eric Bogosian.
At one point in the trailer, a voice reminds Lestat of everything he has lived through, saying, “You’ve been alive and undead for 265 years. You witnessed the French Revolution, the electric light, the atomic bomb… Why music? Why now?” Lestat responds with, “We’re doing a rewrite.” This shows his goal to take charge of how his story is told.

The official description of the season says Lestat’s growing fame will also affect both humans and vampires. His influence increases as more vampires appear, leading to chaos and conflict. The trailer also shows him fighting other vampires as things spiral out of control.
Lestat makes another strong statement in the footage, saying, “I’ve been a monster. This is my reckoning. I am the Vampire Lestat. I am a god.” It reflects how powerful and unstable his new role has become.
The series also stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. It is overseen by Rolin Jones and produced by several names including Mark Johnson and Christopher Rice.
The Vampire Lestat is set to premiere on June 7.
This direction is risky but interesting. Mixing rock star fame with vampire drama is not something we usually see, so it could feel fresh if it is handled well. Lestat’s character also seems like it will get more depth this time. What do you think about this new version of the story? Share your thoughts in the comments.
