A new promo clip for the upcoming Scary Movie 6 has been released, bringing back the franchise’s familiar style of parody with a fresh target.

The short 60-second teaser leans heavily into spoof humor and even includes a nod to the upcoming biopic Michael. The clip shows a comedic take on a Michael Jackson-style performance, played for laughs as part of the film’s wider mockery of recent pop culture releases.

This new entry in the long-running parody series is officially titled Scary Movie but is widely referred to as the sixth film in the franchise. It continues the tradition that began in 2000 and later expanded with several sequels across the years, with the last installment arriving in 2013.

The upcoming movie brings back several familiar faces. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall return to their original roles. The story once again follows the group known to fans as the Core Four, who find themselves pulled back into chaos when a masked killer returns after many years.

The film does not limit its parody targets to one genre. It jokes about modern horror trends, including reboots, sequels, and “final chapter” style releases that never truly end. The teaser suggests that nothing in current pop culture is off-limits for its humor.

The cast also includes returning supporting actors and new additions, with names like Jon Abrahams, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Anthony Anderson, and others joining the ensemble. Kenan Thompson also appears in the teaser in a brief comedic role, portraying a performer styled as a Michael Jackson impersonator for the spoof segment.

Behind the camera, the film is directed by Michael Tiddes, who has previously worked on other parody comedies. The screenplay comes from a group of writers including members of the Wayans family along with Rick Alvarez. Production is handled by Neal H. Moritz and the Wayans team.

According to the official information included with the release, the plot once again centers on the return of a killer tied to events from decades earlier, forcing the group to reunite and face danger again. The franchise continues its mix of horror parody and slapstick comedy, with no serious tone intended.

Paramount is set to release the film in theaters in June.

This teaser shows that the franchise is still fully committed to its old-school parody style. It leans into chaos, familiar characters, and pop culture jokes without trying to be subtle. That approach has always divided audiences, but it also built the series’ identity. It will be interesting to see if this return feels fresh enough for modern viewers or if it relies too much on nostalgia. What do you think about this kind of comedy coming back again?
