The road to the biggest Marvel event in years has been paved almost entirely with secrecy, teasers, and carefully controlled reveals. Marvel Studios has held an unusually tight grip on official footage for ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘, making every scrap of visual information feel like a genuine discovery for the millions of fans keeping a close eye on the film. That wait for anything concrete just got a little shorter, and fittingly, it happened not through a glossy trailer drop but through the most time-honored tradition in blockbuster culture: toys showing up before the studio is ready.

The first wave of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ action figures has leaked online, revealing new looks at Doctor Doom, Captain America, Thor, The Thing, the Human Torch, and the X-Men’s Beast. The figures, part of Hasbro’s Titan Series and ActionVerse lines, were photographed and shared across social media on June 7, and the response from the fanbase has been immediate and overwhelming. For fans who have been starved of official footage, these figures are as close to a character confirmation as it gets.

The centerpiece of the leak is undoubtedly Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. The Hasbro Titan Series figure offers a full-body look at the character in his classic comic-inspired costume, featuring a green hooded cloak, silver metallic armor with a segmented chest plate and gauntlets, a stern silver mask, and black armored boots. Beyond the costume, the toy hints at something even more interesting. Victor Von Doom will apparently unleash red power blasts, while Thor is seemingly going to fashion himself a helmet out of yellow lightning, though these are toys, and details like that are best taken with a pinch of salt for now.

Sam Wilson’s Captain America figure also caught plenty of attention, and not entirely for flattering reasons. Sam Wilson will be wearing a slightly bluer version of the costume he had in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, with Marvel Studios moving away from the distinctive white design featured in the comics and ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ for a version more in line with what Steve Rogers once wore. It is a curious creative choice that has already sparked debate among fans who had hoped the white suit would carry over into the Avengers ensemble.

The second wave of figures is where the crossover stakes really come into focus. Packaging images reveal ‘Marvel’s Thing,’ ‘Human Torch,’ and ‘Marvel’s Beast’ branded figures, offering fans an early glimpse at the designs for Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing, Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch, and Kelsey Grammer’s Beast. The inclusion of Beast in particular is a significant signal for fans of the X-Men side of the crossover, lending physical, merchandisable weight to a character whose MCU role has been largely theoretical until now.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is being positioned as a major crossover event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing together characters from multiple franchises and even different universes, produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Marvel appears to be saving Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom for the first official trailer, which is expected to be released later this month. That means the toy leak arrived ahead of what will likely be a controlled, massive marketing moment, giving fans a preview they were never supposed to have quite yet.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arrives in theaters on December 18. With a trailer reportedly on the horizon and merchandise already escaping into the wild, the hype machine is clearly in motion. Whether you are thrilled by Sam Wilson’s new look or convinced Marvel should have kept the white suit, share your reaction to these toy reveals in the comments.
