‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Presale Frenzy Is Already Breaking Records Before the Movie Even Hits Theaters

Marvel fans have been counting down to December for months, and the anticipation for ‘Avengers Doomsday’ just reached a boiling point. Ticket sales for the massive crossover event kicked off this week, giving audiences their first real shot at locking in seats for the film’s biggest premium screenings.

The rollout centers on Infinity Vision, Disney’s newly created certification for premium large format theaters, which promises bigger screens, brighter images, and enhanced sound for the film’s release. Tickets went on sale to see the film in this format, which guarantees moviegoers an exceptional presentation with expansive screens and outstanding audio quality. The format covers select showtimes across the film’s opening stretch, running from the earliest preview screenings through its first two weeks in theaters.

According to MCU Film News on X, citing BoxOfficeTheory, most of those Infinity Vision presale showings have already sold out. Demand reportedly outpaced the number of available showtimes almost immediately, and more screenings are expected to be added soon to accommodate the overflow of eager fans.

The scale of that demand is striking given how far out the release still is. Advance tickets went live a full five months before the film hits theaters, an unusually early window for Marvel that signals just how confident the studio is heading into December. Sales opened through Fandango and participating theater chains, with showtimes quickly appearing across major circuits.

Interestingly, the entire Infinity Vision push traces back to a scheduling standoff. Warner Bros locked down exclusive access to IMAX theaters for three weeks surrounding ‘Dune Part Three’, which happens to open the same day as ‘Doomsday’, prompting Disney to build its own premium large format designation specifically for this release. That rivalry appears to be fueling just how aggressively Marvel is marketing the early sale window.

Fandango has sweetened the deal with extra incentives for fans buying in now. Anyone who purchases a ticket through the platform between July 20 and November 9, 2026, is automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles. There’s also a dedicated launch bundle featuring an Infinity Vision ticket alongside mystery collectibles, while buyers selecting seats will encounter a custom ‘Avengers Doomsday’ seat map at checkout.

Not everyone is convinced the sellouts tell the full story, though. A check of the showtime grid at one Regal RPX location found only a single RPX screening listed for the film’s preview night, and it was nearly sold out already, suggesting the inventory itself may be part of why shows are vanishing so quickly. Still, for a movie reuniting heroes from three separate cinematic universes under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, that kind of scarcity only seems to be adding fuel to the hype.

With ‘Avengers Doomsday’ still five months from its December 18 release, this presale frenzy is likely just the opening act. Are you racing to grab your Infinity Vision tickets before the next wave sells out, or waiting to see how Doctor Doom’s big screen debut actually holds up?
