Celebrity beauty confessions have become something of a genre unto themselves, with stars increasingly willing to speak openly about the work they’ve had done, and the work they’re still holding off on. That shift toward candor marks a real departure from the guarded, deflective answers actresses often gave on the topic just a few years ago.

Jennifer Lawrence has never been shy about pushing back against Hollywood’s beauty expectations, frequently poking fun at the industry’s obsession with youthful appearances throughout her career. That same directness carried into her latest interview, where she opened up more specifically than usual about exactly what cosmetic work she has and hasn’t considered.

Lawrence explained why she’s not willing to get buccal fat removal, while also sharing the other plastic surgery and beauty trends she’s totally willing to lean into. She told Vogue that she needs to have movement in her face, explaining that she gets baby Botox but can’t do much more than that, adding that if her skin ends up a little saggier than she’d like, at least it still looks dewy and pretty, according to E! News.

Despite holding back on more extensive treatments, Lawrence admitted there’s one specific procedure she’s genuinely tempted by. She told Vogue that she would love to have a buccal fat removal, but explained she can’t actually get it done because everybody would immediately notice, adding that she just wants people to know that she wants it.

Buccal fat removal involves taking out fat pads from the lower cheeks to create a slimmer, more sculpted facial appearance, and has become one of the more talked-about cosmetic trends in Hollywood in recent years. For someone as recognizable as Lawrence, the visibility that comes with such a noticeable change appears to be the main deterrent keeping her from actually going through with it.

Beyond that specific procedure, Lawrence also opened up about her hesitation toward fat transfers, a treatment that moves fat from one area of the body to another to restore volume or smooth out wrinkles. She admitted she’s really nervous about the procedure, explaining that she supports other people trying it because she wants to keep watching how it turns out for them, but isn’t ready to commit to it herself.

This isn’t the first time Lawrence has tackled plastic surgery rumors directly. She previously discussed the topic candidly alongside Kylie Jenner for Interview Magazine, attributing much of her changing appearance over the years to her longtime makeup artist Hung Vanngo rather than any surgical intervention, while also acknowledging that her face naturally changed as she aged out of her teens and into her thirties.

Her latest comments to Vogue represent a notable evolution from that earlier deflection, showing a willingness to speak specifically about which procedures genuinely interest her rather than simply denying speculation altogether. That shift toward transparency fits a broader pattern of Lawrence treating conversations about cosmetic work as just another normal part of aging in the public eye, rather than a topic to avoid entirely.

Given how much scrutiny actresses typically face over their appearance, Lawrence’s willingness to openly discuss both what she has done and what she’s still considering stands out as a notably candid approach. Rather than pretending she’s entirely unbothered by beauty trends or claiming she’d never consider cosmetic work, she’s chosen to speak plainly about the calculations involved in staying in the public eye while still wanting certain changes for herself.
