‘Haunted Hotel’ Season 2 Trailer Is Here, and Netflix Has a Spooky October Return Planned

Netflix is getting ready to welcome fans back to the Undervale Hotel, and this time the timing could not be better. Haunted Hotel Season 2 is officially on the way, giving the animated horror comedy another chance to mix strange ghosts, family problems, dark jokes, and plenty of supernatural trouble. Netflix has confirmed that the new season will arrive on October 9, making it a perfect release for viewers looking for something creepy and funny during the Halloween season.

The series was created by Matt Roller, who has worked on shows such as Rick and Morty and Community. Haunted Hotel follows Katherine Freeling and her children as they try to keep the Undervale Hotel running despite the fact that the building is packed with ghosts and other dangerous supernatural beings. Katherine gets some unexpected help from her late brother Nathan, who now exists as one of the hotel’s resident ghosts. The setup gives the show plenty of room to mix family drama with the kind of strange comedy that has become common in adult animation.

The new season is especially interesting because Netflix showed a lot of confidence in the series almost immediately. Haunted Hotel premiered on September 19, 2025, with all 10 episodes released at the same time. According to the information shared about the show’s debut, it quickly entered Netflix’s top 10 English-language series worldwide, collecting 1.8 million views and 7.5 million hours watched during its first three days.

Netflix did not wait long to make its decision. The company renewed Haunted Hotel for Season 2 only one week after the first season premiered. That was a very quick renewal, especially for an animated series, where producing another season can take a long time. Fans have now had to wait more than a year for the follow-up, but Netflix has finally given them a clear date to mark on their calendars.

The returning voice cast should also make the second season feel familiar. Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson are all expected to return to their roles. Their performances were a big part of the show’s personality in Season 1, so keeping the main cast together should help the new episodes keep the same strange balance between comedy and horror.

Roller is also back behind the scenes as showrunner and executive producer. Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon, and Steve Levy are returning as executive producers, while Erica Hayes continues as supervising director. In a statement previously shared by Netflix’s Tudum, Roller talked about how excited he was to continue working with the cast and crew and keep exploring stories involving “the dead, the evil, and the overworked hospitality staff” at the Undervale.

There is still a lot that Netflix is keeping secret about the actual story of Season 2. The first season introduced Katherine, her children, Nathan, and a collection of unusual spirits, while also bringing in Abaddon, an immortal demon trapped in the body of a young boy from the 1700s. Abaddon sometimes helps the family deal with the strange threats that come to the hotel, although his help often comes with its own problems.

Netflix has also not revealed every major detail about what fans can expect from the new episodes. However, the fact that Season 2 is arriving in October strongly suggests that the series will once again lean into its supernatural side. A spooky hotel, restless ghosts, demons, and a family trying to run a business already give the show plenty of material for another season of chaos.

The series is produced by Netflix Animation Studios, with animation studio Titmouse also involved in production. Titmouse is known for adult animated projects including Big Mouth and The Venture Bros., giving Haunted Hotel plenty of experience behind its unusual visual style.

With the second season now set for October 9, fans finally know when they can check back into the Undervale. If the new episodes can build on the fast success of the first season while keeping its mix of horror and comedy intact, Haunted Hotel could become one of Netflix’s more entertaining Halloween watches this year.
